Carmen Plays A Little Bit Of Everything

Carmen

Name: Carmen

Members: Six, including frontwoman Carmen Espinoza-Rodriquez, a Muleshoe native now living in Canyon

Formed: Current lineup formed in 2007

Albums: None; currently working to secure a record deal

More on the music: Espinoza-Rodriquez’s original songs

are categorized in the Americana genre, but the full band also plays classic rock and other “party music,” she said.

Next performance: 9:30pm Oct. 16 at Duke Tracy’s, 3101 W. 26th Ave. No cover.

What to expect live: “We aim to please everybody,” Espinoza-Rodriquez said. “Audiences can expect a little bit of everything, from country to disco to blues. We try to make it fun.”

You might not know: Espinoza-Rodriquez’s father, Camilo Espinoza Jr., opened for Gene Autry in the 1940s and 1950s.

You also might not know: Espinoza-Rodriquez has shared the stage with Michael Martin Murphy, and Susan Gibson (who wrote “Wide Open Spaces”) recommended her to write and perform a song for a PBS TV show.
