Some of you already know, and maybe some of just found out, but Project Lubbock has been in the works for a while now. I've wanted to start up a sister site for Lubbock for about a year now. Now things are happening and the new site will be available very soon!
I played around with it a few months ago, but things were put on hold a while back when upgrades began happening here at Project Amarillo. This site is working fine now and almost all of the bugs have been worked out. I took a break and haven't done much to the site for the last couple of weeks. I needed a rest from all the programming. Things are far from done here though, because many more changes and new features are planned soon.

Do you want to contribute to Project Amarillo?
Adding Events and Articles is fast and easy. If you are already a registered member, login and look for the Member Menu on the top left. From there you can view or edit your profile page and picture gallery, add events and venues to the calendar, and post stories and articles directly to the site!! If you are not yet registered, don't worry, it only takes a couple of minutes to sign up. Click the register link at the top of the page. You will be asked for your name, the user name you want displayed when you log in, and a valid email address. Your email address is only used to send you a link to activate your membership. Once you are signed up, you will have access to the member menu and you can then post events and articles at Project Amarillo. |

After two years online, Project Amarillo is still working hard to get you the music and entertainment information you are looking for. There have been so many new changes in the past few months, that things are starting to get a bit crowded on the front page. So I will be doing a little bit of rearranging and will try to get things easier to get to, and reduce some of the clutter now taking up the space. The current bands page is way too big and I'm working with the local musicians on a new band page. This page will soon replace the old page. The Forum recently had a big upgrade with lots of new changes. I have been testing out a few new programs for the links page(s), and should have something new available soon.

You should now see a new menu on the left side that takes you to the categories where all the articles/stories will be found from now on. I will be leaving one or two on the frontpage, while the rest can be found in the new category pages!

Many of you know that I post bulletins daily on myspace about the shows that day. I've been getting a few messages there and emails asking me to start a newsletter, post on myspace more than once a day, etc.... I want to know what you guys prefer? Would you like me to start up a newsletter, so you get an email each day of the live shows happening in Amarillo? I've been getting told that some of you have so many friends on myspace, that you have to search for a while to find my bulletins, if you are not logged on right after I send them. And that if I emailed them to you, they wouldn't get lost in the mass of messages on myspace. Also I'm considering the option of sending the bulletins twice or three times a day so you might not miss one. |

I want to tell you that I think what this guy is doing is great and I hope he doesn't let it go away like he has said. I totally forgot about Projectamarillo and found it again on google when I was looking for something else. I used to check out the Amarillo nights message board everyday to see what was new and I really missed it when it went away. It was a great idea and sucks that noone cared to keep it online. Then the guy that helped Brock made Projectamarillo and I thought this would be Amarillo nights 2.0 but noone cares still and now it's going away too. |
